Secretaries’ Day in Mexico: date and gift ideas

Mexico · Nationwide

In Mexico Secretaries’ Day is celebrated on the third Wednesday of July. To congratulate someone close to you, we suggest a small lisianthus bouquet in a colour they enjoy and a card with their name. Flowers are a personal option to accompany your greeting.

Guide to adding Agenda Floral to Apple and Google Calendar

Apple or Google decide when to check for updates. We cannot guarantee that changes appear immediately. Importing the file gives you a copy that does not receive our future corrections. Importing again may duplicate events. We do not add alarms, although your calendar may apply its own alerts.

The third Wednesday of July is the Mexican date

The day of the month changes each year. Argentina’s observance is on 4 September; use the July rule to congratulate someone who works in Mexico.

An employer’s celebration may fall on another day. If you will give the gift there, follow that announcement’s date and reception arrangements. For a personal gathering, bring it when you meet.

Choosing the flowers and the size of the gift

Lisianthus has satin-like petals. Compare carnations for their ruffled petals or gerberas if you prefer an open flower with a distinct centre. Choose the appearance and colours with that person in mind.

For a gift they will take home, ask for a narrow bouquet and assess its dimensions with the wrapping. If you add a vase, include the space the container will occupy.

An order for a greeting between friends

You could order: “I would like a small lisianthus bouquet for Elena. I will give it to her after our photography class. I am looking for a format she can hold in one hand and a card separate from the wrapping so she can keep it.”

The note could say: “Elena, happy Secretaries’ Day. I’m looking forward to celebrating with you after class. Clara.” Change the name and plan to suit your own meeting.

When thanking someone for help at a federal agency

In federal public administration, gifts connected to the post must be rejected. To thank someone for their assistance or handling of a matter in that setting, choose a message through the agency’s institutional channel.
