Easter in the UK: date, flowers and delivery

In the UK, Western Christian Easter Sunday falls on 28 March in 2027. For a meal at someone’s home I would choose yellow daffodils in a small vase or tulips in a colour your host enjoys. Settle the format and collection before you meet so the gift is ready when you arrive.

When Easter Sunday falls

The date changes each year. In 2026 it fell on 5 April, in 2027 it will be 28 March and in 2028 it will be 16 April. This page follows the calendar used by Western Christian churches.

Easter Monday is the following Monday and does not extend this occasion. In 2027, 29 March is listed as a bank holiday in England and Wales and Northern Ireland, but not in Scotland’s list. That difference does not set a florist’s opening hours.

Flowers for your host or for the table

A bunch of yellow daffodils can accompany an Easter visit. Compare tulips if you prefer another colour. Choose the colour with your host in mind.

For the table, order a low arrangement that leaves room for plates. For a gift to the home, a bunch with a vase can go on a side table without rearranging the meal. See the daffodil page or bouquet-care guide if you want to combine them with other flowers.

Collection, delivery and a card for the visit

You could order: “A small bunch of yellow daffodils with a vase for lunch on Sunday 28 March 2027.” Add your budget and delivery address. If you prefer Saturday collection, agree how to keep it until the visit. Easter’s date does not guarantee Sunday delivery.

A simple card could say: “Thank you for having us this Easter. These flowers are for the conversation after lunch and the days ahead at home.” If you want to contribute flowers to a church, agree the arrangement and delivery details with its flower team. That order is separate from a gift for a family visit.

How many years of Easter does the subscription include?

The UK subscription includes Easter Sundays from 2026 to 2046. A copy of the occasion saves only the Sunday in your chosen year. Easter Monday is not added as a second day.
