Flowers and tributes for 9 d’Octubre

Agenda Floral · Editorial selection · Reviewed

Valencian Community · Autonomous community

9 d’Octubre is Valencian Community Day. Flowers accompany specific civic tributes, including the institutional offering to Jaume I in València. We suggest gerberas, carnations or statice as design choices for an arrangement, always adapted to the organisers’ requirements. This does not create a general obligation to give flowers as gifts.

A regional date with specific events

València City Council describes the tribute at the Jaume I monument in the Parterre as part of 9 October. This practice explains the flowers in our entry. Each locality prepares its own events: the regional label does not announce the same offering in every municipality across the Valencian Community.

Preparing a collective tribute

Before ordering an arrangement, establish who will present it, where it will be placed and which size or support is accepted. Agree any ribbon or wording too. Gerberas offer visible centres, carnations a compact texture and statice a lighter accompaniment. These are editorial suggestions, not official species or universal political symbols.

Separate commemoration from a personal gift

If you want to give someone a gift that day, ask about their relationship with the celebration and the flowers they enjoy. Do not infer preferences or beliefs from their place of residence. For a tribute, check the current announcement before buying: a cultural description confirms neither times, public access nor a future event.

Which flowers to choose

Flower pairings are suggestions from Agenda Floral. Documented customs are explained separately; no occasion requires one particular flower.

Frequently asked questions

Can anyone join the institutional offering?

This guide does not guarantee participation. Check the organising body’s conditions and coordinate the delivery.

Must the arrangement use particular colours?

We prescribe no colour combination. For a group tribute, use the palette agreed by its participants.

How we put these guides together

We check dates and customs against institutional sources, and botanical information against horticultural sources. Gift suggestions consider a flower’s appearance and the recipient’s taste. Commercial references document an offer, not popularity or a tradition. This initial catalogue is a growing editorial selection, not a list of every species.
