Nursing Day in Mexico: date, flowers and messages

Mexico · Nationwide

In Mexico National Nursing Day is celebrated every 12 May. For a friend or relative who works in nursing, we suggest gerberas in a colour they enjoy. If the message is for a team, identify the service and the people signing it.

Guide to adding Agenda Floral to Apple and Google Calendar

Apple or Google decide when to check for updates. We cannot guarantee that changes appear immediately. Importing the file gives you a copy that does not receive our future corrections. Importing again may duplicate events. We do not add alarms, although your calendar may apply its own alerts.

12 May and the former 6 January date

The current national date is 12 May. The 6 January date belongs to the earlier celebration. Use 12 May as the reference when preparing a greeting in Mexico.

If they are working that day, celebrate when you meet. Bring the flowers to that gathering so they can take them home without interrupting their working day.

A personal gift with clear names and signatures

Gerberas are our suggestion if they like open flowers. Compare carnations for ruffled petals or alstroemerias for flower clusters. Choose the size around how they will carry the gift and where they will display it.

You could order: “A gerbera bouquet for our friend Diego for 12 May. We will give it to him at a gathering at home and he will take it back by metro. We would like a bouquet that is easy to carry, with the flowers protected and a card signed by Ana, Luis and Mar.” The note could say: “Diego, happy Nursing Day. Today we’re getting together to celebrate with you. Ana, Luis and Mar.”

When the thanks arise from care received

To give thanks as a patient at IMSS or another federal public administration entity, use a message through the facility’s channel. In that setting, gifts connected to the post must be rejected.

For a team, begin the message with the service’s name and add the signatures of those giving thanks. Other facilities’ own contact channels can explain how to send a message and which gift conditions apply.

Which flowers to choose
