Musicians’ Day in Mexico: date and flowers to give
Mexico · Nationwide
Musicians’ Day in Mexico is celebrated on 22 November. For someone close to you, choose a compact gerbera bouquet in their favourite colour and add a card recalling a song you have shared. If they are working or performing that day, the flowers can accompany your get-together afterwards.

Guide to adding Agenda Floral to Apple and Google Calendar
Apple or Google decide when to check for updates. We cannot guarantee that changes appear immediately. Importing the file gives you a copy that does not receive our future corrections. Importing again may duplicate events. We do not add alarms, although your calendar may apply its own alerts.
22 November and Saint Cecilia
Musicians’ Day falls on the feast day of Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians. It is celebrated in different parts of Mexico and in music schools. The occasion recognises people who sing, play and create music. It is not limited to mariachi or a single style.
Concerts and local festivities have their own programmes. For flowers connected to a performance, use the date of that event, even if it is not the 22nd. The calendar saves Musicians’ Day as one all-day occasion without adding those events’ times or duration.
A bouquet to celebrate their music
Gerberas put a colour at the centre of the gift with their open flower shape. If they like ruffled petals, choose carnations. These are two suggestions for a personal gift, and you can start with flowers you already know they like.
If they will leave with an instrument, ask for a narrow bouquet that is easy to hold. For a celebration at home, choose one to fit their vase. An arrangement in a container makes more sense if it will stay there than if they will carry it from one performance to another.
A gift for a whole ensemble
For a band, choir or group, prepare a shared card addressed to its members or to the ensemble. Mention the song that accompanied a celebration or the rehearsal you enjoyed most. That reference makes the thanks personal to them.
If you are sharing out flowers, one wrapped stem per person avoids one member taking the entire gift home. Order for the people taking part that day and hand them out once the instruments are put away. For a rehearsal room, you could choose a single arrangement to stay in the shared space.
An order and a card with something of your own
An example order would be “I would like a small orange gerbera bouquet for my sister for Musicians’ Day. She plays percussion and I will see her at home after her performance. I would like to bring it ready for her vase.” To hand it over at a venue instead, agree the receiving point and time with its organisers.
For the card, you could write “Happy Musicians’ Day. I am still humming the song you played at our last get-together. I cannot wait to hear you again.” For a private music tutor: “Thank you for helping me enjoy music even when that piece is proving difficult.” Adapt the memory to your relationship.

Frequently asked questions
Which flowers can I give for Musicians’ Day?
Choose gerberas for their open shape or carnations for their ruffled petals. Their taste and the handover format guide the choice; no species or colour is required to congratulate them.
Are Musicians’ Day and the concert always on the same date?
The Mexican occasion is on 22 November. Each ensemble can schedule performances on another date. The subscription saves the 22nd, not a specific concert.
How can I send flowers from another country?
Specify Mexico, the town and the full delivery date. For a home address, include a window in the destination’s local time. For a venue, also provide the contact and reception agreed with its organisers.
Sources and what they support
- SIC · Fiesta de Santa Cecilia
Places Musicians’ Day on 22 November in different parts of Mexico and connects it with Saint Cecilia. These are local festivities and do not establish a nationwide duration or a floral tradition.
- Cultura · Semana Musical del COMEM, 2019
Confirms 22 November and violin, piano, jazz, opera and mariachi activities during the 2019 music week. Its dates and times are not a 2026 programme.
- INBAL · Celebrando el Día del Músico, Monterrey 2022
Student concert with strings, brass, percussion, choir and orchestras on 22 November 2022. Supports that educational event, not backstage access, gift reception or an identical annual programme.
