Flowers for the Peregrina feast in Pontevedra
Pontevedra · Local
The feast of Our Lady of the Peregrina in Pontevedra falls on the second Sunday in August. That is the date this occasion adds to your calendar. If you want to bring flowers also check the flower offering date and how contributions are received. In 2026 it was scheduled for Saturday 8 August and the feast was on Sunday the 9th. For a personal gift you could choose lisianthus to suit the recipient’s taste.

Which date the calendar includes
The brotherhood confirms that the feast remains on the second Sunday in August. The calendar calculates that Sunday each year and this page carries the label Pontevedra · Local. Galicia is the region you can select to find it.
The date represents the feast in the city. It does not include every activity or mean that flowers can be delivered without an arrangement throughout Sunday.
The flower and institutional offerings are separate acts
The brotherhood’s 2026 programme placed the flower offering on Saturday 8 August. Sunday the 9th included Mass with the Diputación’s institutional offering and the procession. That year’s programme helps distinguish the acts but does not set times or receiving dates for future editions.
Municipal tourism also lists the flower parade, known as batalla de flores, among the activities. It is not another way to deliver a bouquet to the shrine. Identify the specific act you want to attend before organising an order.
Attending does not mean a flower delivery is agreed
The brotherhood invited the faithful to the 2026 celebrations and published specific conditions for children on the float. That registration was not a procedure for bringing bouquets. If you want to contribute flowers ask who coordinates them and whether your contribution is accepted.
You can ask the brotherhood through its contact page. Explain whether you are bringing flowers personally or on behalf of a group and ask them to confirm the format and reception. The shrine’s visiting hours do not replace that agreement.
Choose flowers once you know who they are for
For a personal gift I would choose a lisianthus bouquet that fits the space at home. You could ask for a container if the person will return after the celebrations. They can then place it without preparing a vase.
If a contribution to the shrine is accepted choose flowers to suit the format requested by the organisers. Ask about carnations as an alternative. The sources consulted do not establish a required species or colour and the image on this page is our flower reference.
An order that separates the gift from the offering
For example, if your grandmother attends the Sunday feast you could arrange a bouquet for her home when she returns. Give the florist her name and address. It is a gift for her rather than a contribution she needs to carry during the procession.
If your group has an accepted flower contribution confirm the receiving date before ordering. Leave a contact and make clear who will collect or deliver the arrangement. Do not use the calendar date as the only detail for the order.
If you visit Pontevedra during the Camino
The shrine is in Plaza Peregrina in Pontevedra. If you are passing through decide whether you can collect and deliver flowers without carrying them for the whole stage. You could also ask about direct delivery when there is a confirmed recipient.
If you transport flowers tell the florist how long the journey will take and how you will travel. Ask for protection suited to your arrangement. Our transport and distance delivery guides can help you prepare that step.
Which flowers to choose
We suggest flowers that may suit each occasion. Where a custom is documented, we explain it separately. For a personal gift you can choose another flower if you know the recipient will like it more.

Lisianthus
Main flower in our selectionA suggestion for a personal gift that you can request in a container if it will be received after the celebrations. It is not a flower required by the brotherhood.

Carnation
Ask about it as an alternative once the contribution’s format is agreed. We do not assume an official colour or species.

How we put these guides together
We consult institutional sources to check dates and customs. For plant facts, we use horticultural sources. Our gift ideas start with each flower’s appearance and the recipient’s taste. A shop link documents a particular offer. It does not prove that a flower is popular or part of a tradition. We keep adding to this selection rather than claiming to cover every species.
