Valvanera floral offering in Logroño: what to prepare
If you want to bring flowers to the Valvanera offering in Logroño, first ask Peña Aster how to take part. The floral offering has its own date and is separate from San Mateo’s first grape-must offering. Once the handover is agreed, you can order a bouquet that fits the requested format. If you are going with a festival group or association, a joint order lets one person take responsibility for collecting and carrying it.

A local offering with a date confirmed for each edition
This guide covers the festival groups’ offering in Logroño, La Rioja, Spain. The council scheduled the 2026 edition for Sunday 27 September at noon on Calle Vitoria. The programme names Peña Aster as the organiser. These details identify an edition that has already taken place.
The 2025 municipal announcement gave 28 September. Before booking flowers or a trip, find the programme for the new edition. The sources consulted do not set an annual rule for this offering. We therefore do not add it as a recurring series to Agenda Floral’s calendar.
The floral offering, Mass and first grape-must offering are separate
The 2026 programme separates the 11am Mass at the parish of Nuestra Señora de Valvanera from the noon floral offering on Calle Ciudad de Vitoria. If you want to hand over a bouquet, check which event you should attend and who will receive it.
Grape treading and the first grape-must offering were scheduled for 21 September 2026 on Paseo del Espolón. Do not use that event to arrange a flower handover. Nor should you apply the date of a celebration at Valvanera monastery to Logroño without checking that it is the same event.
What to ask before ordering flowers
Check the municipal programme and Peña Aster’s channels. Ask whether you can offer flowers as an individual or should take part with a festival group or organisation. Then agree on a meeting point and contact person. An offering’s inclusion in the programme does not by itself explain how individual bouquets are received.
You could ask: “We are an association and would like to bring flowers to the next offering. How do we confirm our participation? Would you prefer a bouquet or an arrangement, and where should we hand it over?” Wait for that answer before finalising the order. If you simply want to attend, you can check the announcement without buying flowers.
Choose a bouquet or arrangement to suit the handover
For carrying by hand, I would suggest a compact bouquet you can hold without blocking your view. If the organisers ask for an arrangement, agree on its dimensions and whether it needs a container. A larger arrangement does not always make the handover easier. The format requested by the recipient should guide your choice.
Carnations can provide ruffled petals in an arrangement. If you prefer flowers with more open shapes, you can ask about lisianthus. These are suggestions from our catalogue rather than official flowers of this offering. Confirm colours and stock with the florist. The cover is a floral reference rather than a photograph of the event.
A joint order with one person responsible
When several people are taking part, agree on a budget and who will speak to the organisers. It helps if that person also knows the order and handover point. You can then resolve a flower substitution or collection change without each member giving different instructions.
An order could be: “We would like a compact carnation bouquet for our association’s offering. The organisers have confirmed the format. One person will collect it and walk it to the agreed meeting point. Please check with us before substituting a missing colour.” Add the confirmed date and any dimensions you have been given.
Agree on transport before paying
Tell the florist how long the journey will take and how you will carry the bouquet. Ask for packaging that protects the flowers and that you can remove at the handover point. If you are travelling with an arrangement, check that you can keep it stable and carry its container without spills.
For direct delivery, confirm that the organisers accept it and provide a delivery contact. Do not assume the parish address works for every time slot. The transport and delivery guides help you prepare these details once your participation has been confirmed.
Which flowers to choose
We suggest flowers that may suit each occasion. Where a custom is documented, we explain it separately. For a personal gift you can choose another flower if you know the recipient will like it more.

Carnation
Carnations can suit a birthday or a thank-you when you choose colours the recipient likes. We also suggest them for Mother’s Day and All Saints’ Day tributes. Decide where the flowers will go before choosing the format. If there are cats or dogs at home, ask about another suitable option.

Lisianthus
Lisianthus may appeal for an anniversary or thank-you when you want soft-looking flowers. We also suggest it as an alternative to roses on Valentine’s Day. It is known as eustoma and is a different plant from roses and peonies. Choose shades and bouquet size around the recipient and check what can be supplied for that day.
Frequently asked questions
Is the floral offering always on 28 September?
28 September applies to the 2025 edition. The 2026 edition was scheduled for the 27th. Check each new edition’s programme before ordering flowers.
Is it the same as the first grape-must offering?
They are separate events. In 2026 the first grape-must offering was scheduled for 21 September on the Espolón and the floral offering for the 27th on Calle Vitoria.
Can I bring flowers without belonging to a festival group?
The sources consulted do not explain the conditions for individual handovers. Ask Peña Aster before ordering. Missing information does not mean it is prohibited.
Is a flower species or colour compulsory?
The sources consulted do not publish a required species or colour. Check the organisers’ instructions. Carnations and lisianthus in this guide are suggestions to consider afterwards.
Can I subscribe to this offering in Agenda Floral?
This guide does not create a calendar series because we do not have a documented annual rule for the floral offering. Check the municipal programme for the edition you want to follow.

How we put these guides together
We consult institutional sources to check dates and customs. For plant facts, we use horticultural sources. Our gift ideas start with each flower’s appearance and the recipient’s taste. A shop link documents a particular offer. It does not prove that a flower is popular or part of a tradition. We keep adding to this selection rather than claiming to cover every species.
