Girona Temps de Flors: planning your visit
To visit Girona Temps de Flors choose the spaces that interest you most and connect those you can comfortably explore. Check the accessibility map if you need to avoid steps and confirm each stop’s opening times. The municipal edition reviewed here took place on 9–17 May 2026. For a later trip confirm the new dates and programme before booking.

An exhibition spread across Girona
Temps de Flors brings installations to streets, courtyards, gardens and buildings in Girona, Catalonia. A visit means moving between spaces. There is no single entrance that covers the whole route.
The organiser’s page and the Museum of History news item agree on the 2026 dates. Use them to place this guide’s examples in context. Do not turn those nine days in May into fixed dates for every year.
A short route you can extend
Open the maps in the municipal magazine for the edition you plan to visit. Mark a few installations you want to see and check how they connect. Choose an area to start in and keep more distant stops as an extension if you feel like continuing.
You can prepare two plans. The first groups the spaces you most want to see with a break between them. The second adds another neighbourhood. This lets you shorten the visit without leaving all your priorities until the end. Allow time for entering spaces too and follow the signs on the day.
Check access to each courtyard or building
The 2026 magazine distinguishes accessible, practicable and non-accessible spaces. The organiser also publishes an adapted route. To use that information find each specific space on the map and ask about any stretch that remains unclear.
If you need a step-free entrance you could ask: “We want to visit this courtyard and this museum installation. Does the adapted route reach both? Where do we enter, and is there any stretch we should avoid?” Do not infer access to an entire building from the symbol for one installation.
The Museum of History news item describes installations in different parts of the building. To visit its galleries or attend another activity check the conditions separately. The floral programme does not replace that information.
A break with its own opening times
In 2026 the organiser announced Espai Calma at CaixaFòrum and Centre Cívic Barri Vell-Mercadal. Their opening times differed. It also listed an Espai de Descans in the jardí de l’Àngel.
If a break matters to your visit include it in your route from the start. Check that the stop will be open when you expect to arrive and keep a nearby alternative. A place marked on the map is not necessarily available throughout the exhibition’s opening hours.
Flors de Nit and the final day
The 2026 page announced daytime opening from 9:30am to 9pm. Flors de Nit extended opening for selected interiors until 11pm from Sunday to Friday and midnight on Saturdays. For an evening visit choose spaces included in that programme rather than applying those hours to every courtyard.
The same page warned that dismantling would start at some outdoor spaces at 7pm on Sunday 17 May. To see a particular installation on the final day check how long it will remain in place. The general closing time may not answer that question.
Getting there is part of the plan
The organiser recommends arriving by train or bus and checking services for projects in neighbourhoods away from the centre. For another edition review timetables and arrival points before fitting them around your visits. The extra transport services listed for 2026 are not permanent.
Note how you will reach your first space and where you will depart from. If you have a fixed departure time build your route around that limit. You can finish near your transport and leave room to change plans without rushing.
Using a floral idea you like
An installation can give you an idea for a gift’s colours or shapes. Note what appealed to you and how much space the recipient has. You can then explain it to a florist without asking for a complete copy of the display.
For example: “I liked a combination of pink and green during a visit. I would like to use that idea in a small bouquet for a table at home. Which flowers can you use for the delivery day?” This is a personal suggestion rather than a Temps de Flors flower-giving custom. The choosing guide helps you specify a format. To see floats in a parade instead you can compare a visit to Laredo.
Frequently asked questions
When is Girona Temps de Flors?
The edition reviewed here ran on 9–17 May 2026. For another visit check the municipal announcement. This guide does not present those dates as an annual rule or confirm the 2027 dates.
Can I see everything in one visit?
Start with the spaces that interest you and a route you can comfortably manage. You can prepare an extension into another neighbourhood without committing to complete every map. Your available time and conditions on the day will determine how much to add.
Is every courtyard accessible for a wheelchair?
The 2026 map distinguishes several categories and the organiser publishes an adapted route. Check each stop and its entrance. Do not assume one space’s accessibility applies to every courtyard or room in the building.
Can I visit any space at night?
Flors de Nit in 2026 extended opening for selected interiors. For an evening visit check which spaces take part and the hours for that day. A courtyard outside that selection may close earlier.
Do I need to bring flowers to attend?
The sources reviewed describe an exhibition and visitor routes. They do not state a required bouquet for entry. If an installation inspires a gift you can arrange it afterwards as a personal choice.

How we put these guides together
We consult institutional sources to check dates and customs. For plant facts, we use horticultural sources. Our gift ideas start with each flower’s appearance and the recipient’s taste. A shop link documents a particular offer. It does not prove that a flower is popular or part of a tradition. We keep adding to this selection rather than claiming to cover every species.
