Flowers for Our Lady of Angustias in Guadix
Guadix · Local
If you want to contribute flowers for Our Lady of Angustias in Guadix, first confirm the ceremony and who will receive them. We suggest a compact carnation bouquet if it suits the team’s needs. The feast falls on the second Sunday of November and is separate from Granada city’s September offering.

Guadix celebrates the feast in November
The council places the feast on the second Sunday of November. The diocesan announcement for 2026 confirms 8 November as the main day and the start of the celebrations on the 1st. The calendar marks the feast. It does not add every day of the septena or reserve a flower handover slot.
Check that your order is addressed to Guadix. Granada city has its own Angustias offering on 15 September. Sharing a dedication does not mean sharing a date or location. You can consult the Granada celebration at the end of this page.
Flowers during the septena and your contribution
In 2019 the diocese recorded the council offering flowers during the septena, a period of seven days of worship. That report documents a contribution by that group. To arrange yours, ask the archconfraternity which ceremony you could accompany and whether flowers are needed for that edition.
Ask whether flowers are presented during worship or received beforehand for an arrangement. Knowing when the procession takes place does not settle the handover. Wait for a confirmed reception point before giving the florist an address.
Choose the bouquet after agreeing the format
The carnations in the cover image are our suggestion for a compact bouquet. If you prefer lisianthus, you can propose it as an alternative. We do not present either flower or any colour as a requirement of the celebration. Confirm what preparation the team can use before choosing the arrangement.
If you will carry the flowers, ask for a size you can transport comfortably. If sending them, agree the receiving contact and time window. A short card can identify the person or group making the contribution if the organisers find it useful.
An example to help arrange the order
You could ask: “I would like to contribute flowers for the Angustias celebrations in Guadix. Do you need them for a particular ceremony? Who can advise me on the format and where to deliver them?” With that answer you can ask the florist for a bouquet or material for an arrangement as agreed.
Check that the confirmation includes Guadix and the accepted reception date. If attending with an association, coordinate one order with its representative. Do not copy a time or destination from an old programme.
Which flowers to choose
We suggest flowers that may suit each occasion. Where a custom is documented, we explain it separately. For a personal gift you can choose another flower if you know the recipient will like it more.

Carnation
Main flower in our selectionWe suggest carnations for a compact bouquet if the team accepts your contribution. This is an editorial choice, with no documented required species or colour.

Lisianthus
An alternative if you prefer its shape. Agree the size and check substitutions with whoever will receive the flowers.

How we put these guides together
We consult institutional sources to check dates and customs. For plant facts, we use horticultural sources. Our gift ideas start with each flower’s appearance and the recipient’s taste. A shop link documents a particular offer. It does not prove that a flower is popular or part of a tradition. We keep adding to this selection rather than claiming to cover every species.
