Fuensanta offering in Murcia: dates and flowers
Before buying flowers for the Fuensanta in Murcia, check which event you want to attend. The spring offering in Belluga, the Bando de la Huerta and the pilgrimage are separate occasions. If your flowers will join a shared arrangement, ask which format the organisers need. For a confirmed individual handover, you can choose a bouquet that is comfortable to carry. That distinction helps you plan the order without assuming the same conditions apply to every celebration.

The spring offering and the Bando have separate dates
The municipal announcement of 6 April 2026 places the floral offering in Plaza del Cardenal Belluga that afternoon, after the children’s Bando. The main Bando took place on Tuesday the 7th. The Diocese also distinguishes the offering on the day before Tuesday’s Huertana Mass. To bring flowers, find the offering entry in the programme rather than relying on the main parade date.
These dates identify an edition that has already taken place. Before ordering for another year, check the new Fiestas de Primavera programme. We do not have a documented annual rule for this floral offering, so the guide does not create a calendar series.
The programme can include more than one offering
The 2026 municipal programme records a separate Agrupación Sardinera offering after its Mass on Wednesday 8 April at the Cathedral. That event differs from Monday’s offering in Belluga. Two events honouring Our Lady of the Fuensanta do not necessarily share a flower handover.
Check the event name, who is organising it and the location. If you are taking part with an organisation, ask its coordinator which event it will attend. When saving the date, include those details to distinguish it from Mass, the parade or a visit to the image.
Check the September feast and pilgrimage separately
The Cathedral Chapter describes the liturgical feast on the Sunday after 8 September and the return to the shrine on the following Tuesday. In 2026 the Diocese announced the feast for 13 September and the council placed the pilgrimage on the 15th. Those rules concern the September celebrations rather than setting the spring offering date.
The shrine is in Algezares, within the municipality of Murcia. Do not automatically use its address for a bouquet intended for an event in Belluga. If you want to offer flowers during a visit or pilgrimage, check that celebration’s contact channel. The extraordinary centenary visits have their own programme and do not establish unrestricted bouquet reception either.
How to ask about participation before ordering
For the spring offering, you can contact the Federación de Peñas Huertanas through its contact page. Ask how to take part individually or with your organisation and who will receive the flowers. The form lets you send an enquiry but does not amount to registration or acceptance of a handover.
You could write: “I would like to offer flowers at the next spring offering in Belluga. What conditions should I follow, and where can I confirm the handover point? Will the flowers be arranged together, or would you prefer a prepared bouquet?” An invitation from another edition does not replace that confirmation. If you would rather attend without flowers, check the announcement without treating a visit as an obligation to buy.
Choose flowers for how they will be used
If the flowers will join a shared arrangement, ask for species, colour and preparation instructions before choosing. The person assembling it may need a particular format. Do not remove wrapping or take a bouquet apart to fit a handover method you have not confirmed.
For an accepted individual contribution, you could suggest a carnation bouquet if you like ruffled petals. Statice is another reference for small clusters of colour to accompany the arrangement. These are catalogue ideas rather than flowers required by the organiser. Confirm stock and ask about any substitution before finalising the order. The cover illustrates a flower rather than the offering’s arrangement.
An order that distinguishes collection from handover
If a prepared bouquet has already been accepted, you could ask: “I would like a carnation bouquet for the spring offering in Murcia. The handover has been confirmed for this event. I will carry it by hand and would prefer a manageable size. Please check with me before changing a flower or colour.” Add the agreed day and meeting point so the florist knows when you will collect it.
For a shared arrangement, pass on the organisers’ instructions instead of using that individual bouquet example. If the florist will deliver directly, confirm who can receive it and when. The transport and delivery guides help you prepare the journey once you have established where the flowers will go.
Which flowers to choose
We suggest flowers that may suit each occasion. Where a custom is documented, we explain it separately. For a personal gift you can choose another flower if you know the recipient will like it more.

Carnation
Carnations can suit a birthday or a thank-you when you choose colours the recipient likes. We also suggest them for Mother’s Day and All Saints’ Day tributes. Decide where the flowers will go before choosing the format. If there are cats or dogs at home, ask about another suitable option.

Statice
Statice can suit a small thank-you gift or add colour to a birthday bouquet. You can also ask for a dried arrangement for the home. Its flower clusters allow a gift that does not depend on one large bloom. Clarify the format because fresh and dried bouquets need different care.
Frequently asked questions
Is the floral offering on the same day as the Bando de la Huerta?
In 2026 the spring offering was on Monday 6 April and the main Bando on Tuesday the 7th. Check the offering’s specific entry in each edition’s programme.
Is the Fuensanta feast in Murcia always on 8 September?
The Cathedral Chapter places the liturgical feast on the Sunday after 8 September. In 2026 it was on the 13th. Do not confuse that feast with the spring floral offering.
Does sending the Federation an enquiry register me to take part?
No. Its form is an enquiry channel. Wait for participation and handover instructions before ordering or considering your contribution accepted.
Are carnations or a particular colour compulsory?
The sources consulted do not set a standing floral requirement. Follow your event’s instructions. The carnations and statice shown here are editorial suggestions.
Can I import this offering from the guide?
The guide does not add a calendar series because we do not have a documented annual rule for the spring offering. Check the municipal announcement for the edition you want to follow.

How we put these guides together
We consult institutional sources to check dates and customs. For plant facts, we use horticultural sources. Our gift ideas start with each flower’s appearance and the recipient’s taste. A shop link documents a particular offer. It does not prove that a flower is popular or part of a tradition. We keep adding to this selection rather than claiming to cover every species.
